Questions and answers

What ScoutPath does for recruitment agencies and college soccer coaches, where its data comes from, and what it does not promise.

About ScoutPath

Who is ScoutPath for?

ScoutPath is college soccer recruiting software for professionals: international recruitment agencies, scouting services, independent advisors, clubs and academies that help players join US college soccer programs. Accounts are opened for a professional activity.

College soccer coaches (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA) can create a free coach account to keep their program's recruitment needs up to date.

ScoutPath is not a placement agency and does not represent athletes. It is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA or any university.

Does ScoutPath guarantee an admission, a scholarship or a recruitment?

No. ScoutPath does not guarantee an admission, a scholarship, a place on a team or a recruitment. Compatibility scores are not probabilities.

Admission, eligibility, athletic aid and visas are decided by the universities, the athletic associations and the authorities. ScoutPath makes no automated decision about them.

How the matching works

Which divisions and associations does ScoutPath cover?

Men's and women's soccer programs of the NCAA (Divisions I, II and III), the NAIA, the NJCAA (Divisions I, II and III) and other associations such as the NCCAA, CCCAA, NWAC and USCAA, as far as their data is loaded. Coverage depends on the datasets imported; ScoutPath does not describe it as complete.

For agencies

How does a recruitment agency use ScoutPath?

You create your agency workspace, add an athlete profile (position, level, grades, English test, budget, preferences) after obtaining the athlete's consent, or a guardian's consent for a minor, then run the matching.

You get a ranking of programs with the reasons for each result, then follow your work with the shortlist, the pipeline, a PDF report for the family and the CSV import of athletes. On the Elite plan, Recruitment Management follows each case file up to arrival in the US.

Can several people of my agency work in the same workspace?

Yes. The owner invites colleagues, each with their own account and role. The number of members depends on the plan.

Matching and results

How does the college soccer matching work?

First, hard constraints are applied: excluded states, required competition levels, an active program, maximum budget, required major and English minimums. A program that fails one is excluded with the reason; one that cannot be checked is marked as needing verification.

Then seven components are scored: sporting level, roster opportunity, academics, cost, location, development and integration. Agencies can adjust the weights, and each athlete's importance levels adjust them further.

The engine is deterministic: the same profile and the same data always give the same ranking. Missing data is left out and reported, never filled in. Artificial intelligence is optional and only rewords explanations from facts already computed; it is off by default.

How the matching works

What are the limits of the results?

A result is only as good as the data behind it: rosters change, needs evolve and some values are estimates. Each result shows what could not be checked.

A score is a compatibility indication to prepare your work, not a prediction. Always confirm with the program before advising a family.

What is the difference between a confirmed need and an estimated opportunity?

A confirmed need is published by a coach whose affiliation to the program was verified. It is dated, attributed to the coach by name and role, and stops counting at its end date (12 months at most).

An estimated opportunity is deduced by ScoutPath from the roster, for example several players in their last year at the same position. It is labeled as inferred, never presented as a recruiting need.

Data, sources and freshness

Where does the college data come from?

Institutions, costs, admission and completion rates and fields of study come from public datasets of the US Department of Education (College Scorecard, Equity in Athletics). Association rules are summarized from the associations' own pages.

Rosters and recruitment needs come from sources ScoutPath is allowed to use: programs that share them, coaches with a verified account, licensed datasets or pages whose terms allow it. In production, a roster is shown only when its use is authorized; ScoutPath never bypasses access controls or anti-bot protections.

College data

How fresh is the data?

Every value is stored with its source, its collection date and its verification status. Values older than the current season or academic year are labeled outdated. Coach needs expire at their end date.

I play on a US college roster. What does ScoutPath hold about me?

The page for players on college rosters explains what may be kept, why, for how long, and how to ask for a copy, a correction or deletion.

For college coaches

What can a college soccer coach do on ScoutPath?

Create a free coach account, find their team, ask to manage it and, once the affiliation is verified, publish and update the program's recruitment needs, send the official roster or ask for a correction or withdrawal.

How is a coach's affiliation to a program verified?

A name and a public page do not prove who someone is, and neither does a university email domain on its own. The coach confirms a professional email address with a link sent to it.

The request is approved automatically only when that confirmed address is the one published next to the coach's name, role and team on a page of the university's official athletics site. Otherwise a member of the ScoutPath team checks it by hand. The automatic check never refuses a request, and no timeframe is guaranteed.

Until the affiliation is verified, the account cannot publish needs or change anything about the program. Several coaches of the same team can each have their own account.

Account and password

How do I create an account?

Agencies create a workspace from the sign-up page; coaches create a coach account from the coach sign-up page. Both are free to create.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in page and enter your account's email address. If email sending is configured, you receive a link that works once, for one hour; every device signed in to the account is logged out after the change. Otherwise, write to the ScoutPath address from your account's mailbox.

Free trial, plans and terms

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new agency workspace starts on the free trial: no card is asked and nothing is charged.

The trial covers 1 athlete profile(s). For each athlete, the 1 best university match(es) are shown in full with their explanation; the other results are only counted. They are never sent to your browser, so they cannot be revealed by inspecting the page.

No end date is set for the trial at the moment.

What do the plans cost?

The plans currently offered are: Essential (€29 / month), Professional (€149 / month), Elite (€199 / month). Prices are per month, excluding taxes.

These prices are provisional: online payment is not open yet, and a plan change is handled with the ScoutPath team.

Plans differ by volume (athlete profiles, members) and by tools; the matching is the same in every plan.

Which terms apply?

The terms of service, the agency terms (with the data processing agreement) and the privacy policy are published on the site and linked in the footer.

Privacy and contact

How are athletes' personal data protected?

An agency adds an athlete only after obtaining the athlete's consent, or a guardian's for a minor; consent is recorded per athlete. Each agency only sees its own athletes. Data can be exported or deleted, and ScoutPath refuses passport, visa and other government identifier numbers.

Anyone can make a request about their personal data from the “Your personal data” page.
