Every value has a source and a date.
Institutions, soccer programs, association rules, costs, fields of study and rosters, each stored with where it came from, when it was collected and how far it has been verified.
Where data comes from
Only sources we are allowed to use, through official channels.
- College Scorecard
- The US Department of Education's open dataset: institution identity, location, control, enrollment, admission and completion rates, tuition and housing costs, and fields of study. Loaded from the public bulk files and refreshed through the official API.
- Equity in Athletics (EADA)
- The US Department of Education's athletics disclosure data: which institutions report men's and women's soccer, their athletic classification and participant counts. It is the starting list of programs; each affiliation is marked outdated until it is confirmed for the current season.
- Association rules
- Which divisions sponsor soccer and whether athletic aid is permitted, summarized from association pages, with each rule's source and verification status.
- Programs and rosters
- Loaded from CSV files prepared from sources the operator is authorized to use, such as licensed datasets, data shared by programs, or pages whose terms allow it. ScoutPath does not bypass access controls or anti-bot protections.
- Agency records
- Coach contacts, confirmed needs and offers recorded by an agency stay inside that agency's workspace.
How values are labeled
The same labels appear across the platform.
- Official
- Taken from an official source, with its link and check date.
- Staff-verified
- Confirmed by staff at the college.
- Derived from official
- Calculated from official values, such as a total cost from published components.
- AI-inferred
- Inferred by ScoutPath rather than published, such as a home country from a hometown.
- Unverified
- From a source that has not been checked yet.
- Outdated
- Older than the current season or academic year.
- Dev fixture · fictional
- Fictional development data. Visible only in development environments, never in production.
Coverage
We report what is loaded rather than claim completeness.
Coverage depends on which datasets have been imported. The administration dashboard shows how many institutions, programs and current-season rosters are loaded, how many are verified, which rosters are out of date, and the history of every import. We will not describe coverage as complete until it has been checked against each association's membership.
Data ages. Roster pages carry the season they describe, costs carry their academic year, and stale values are flagged as such.
